This one was a real puzzle—our clients wanted net-zero energy consumption without making it look like a science experiment. We ended up integrating solar panels into the roofline so seamlessly you'd barely notice 'em unless you're looking for them.

The orientation took advantage of southern exposure, and we added a geothermal system that works like a charm even during those brutal Ontario winters. Triple-glazed windows, premium insulation, and a heat recovery ventilator rounded things out.

What really makes this place special though? The family living there says their energy bills average about $40 a month. Yeah, you read that right.

Tech companies always say they want "collaborative spaces," but what they really need is flexibility. This building's got open work areas, quiet zones, and meeting rooms that actually have decent acoustics.

We used a lot of glass to keep sight lines open and natural light flowing, but added smart tinting so people aren't squinting at their screens all day. The common areas have movable furniture—turns out people like rearranging their environment sometimes.

Oh, and the rooftop terrace? That wasn't in the original plan, but we found space for it and now it's apparently where all the important decisions get made.
